Kitchen extension, Heaton Moor, Manchester

Stephen Snoddy, Heaton Moor

From initial meeting to scope the project Ged was not only very pleasant to deal with but he also made some very useful suggestions to cut costs and to improve the layout. Throughout the project he communicated at all stages with progress and his team of builders, joiners, plasterers, plumbers and electricians and fitters were extremely pleasant to work with and got on with the work on hand without delay and with good humour. Ged also let us know promptly when there were costs not quoted for so there were no nasty surprises at the end. The quality of the work was first class and we would happy to let potential clients have a look at our kitchen extension.

Ged has a hands on approach which gave us confidence in him both before and during the building of our extension. He has a tried, trusted and friendly team whose work meets his own high standards. All of the guys at G&G took great care to minimise any mess and disruption, which we really appreciated. We now have a house transformed by a large and airy living space and kitchen, which we are very pleased with. ‘We give 10 out of 10 to the G&G team!

It looks fantastic. We only wish we had done it years ago! I spoke to Ged and asked his advice in replacing the brickwork to the front extended elevation of our house which had been poorly matched many years before we moved in. The house is built of miniature bricks and the extension in standard rustic! Ged sourced the bricks, matching them perfectly and proceeded with the build. We were presented with a full date line plan and costs, agreed the start date and the work commenced. Professional from start to finish and even completed some additional work which we found on the way. A great gang of workers. I would certainly recommend G & G Builders to anyone thinking of home improvements and builds in the future.

Lantern roof extension & alterations, Oldham

Janet and Anthony Bray, Grotton,Oldham

We are absolutely delighted with the building work and alterations we recently undertook to improve the bungalow. We have had a single storey extension built at the rear with patio doors and a lantern roof. This really is a ‘WOW’ feature and an immediate talking point when family and friends visit. Internally, the kitchen was moved to a different site and a new kitchen installed. The old kitchen is now the dining room. The foresight and attention to detail Ged gave to this project was first class. I definitely recommend ‘Ged’s Gang”. If, in the future, a further project is proposed, G and G Builders will be the first phone call.

Loft conversion & house extension, Hale, South Manchester

We have been involved in the construction business for over 20 years and at the time we wanted work done on our house our usual builder was busy on larger jobs. We were recommended to use G and G Builders to remodel our house and create a bedroom suite in our loft. From the very first meeting with Ged to the final finishing touches we always felt in safe hands. When the builders said they would be here they came and did a full days work and never made promises they couldn’t keep. We moved out for two months and all the workmen treated our home with the up most respect. The final finish was top class.

G and G Builders recently completed a range of work at our house including the building of an extension and re roofing the property. From planning to completion they were professional throughout and the work has been of a very high standard; we’re very pleased with the results! They made sure we were consulted at every stage so that we ended up with what we really wanted and they even tidied up each day! Nothing was too much trouble if we wanted to change something and they had some excellent suggestions for improvements. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to friends. A big thanks to Ged and his team!

G&G Builders carried out extensive refurbishment work to our property and we would highly recommend them. They are reputable, professional and reliable. When they start a job they work every day all day until the job is finished. They pay attention to detail and the quality of the work they do is first class. All the team are considerate and tidy up at the end of every day. Ged personally checks the work and progress at regular intervals and ensures that everything is right – he says that there is only one way to do things and that is the right way (and he means it and delivers it!)

We cannot recommend G & G Builders highly enough. On an initial visit, Ged Hunter came up with an outline plan and redevelopment for our kitchen, the design of which had defeated all other businesses up to that point. Once we agreed to his final plans and quotation, Ged took care all building regulations and planning application details. Furthermore, he explained when the work would start and was accurate about when it would be completed. Ged constantly checked we were happy with how things were developing all the time that the work was in progress. Finally, all the workmen employed by the company did a thoroughly professional job. Thanks to G & G Builders we now have our dream kitchen!

Ged is sensible, creative & thinks on his feet, is very hands on and keeps to a timing plan. He has a nice team of grafters who work to a very high standard. Ged kept to his word on price and when we decided on changes to the original spec, any extra cost was agreed in advance. Ged was recommended by our Architect and was our first choice over several other builders We felt extremely lucky to have Ged & his team to do our extension and we are so pleased with the results! I would recommend Ged and his team without hesitation.

G&G partnership was recommended to us by friends and subsequent research corroborated their views. The build was a large 2-storey extension to the rear of the house. We were very happy with the personal attention afforded by Ged who acted as project manager throughout the build. We were kept fully informed on a daily basis and there were no “no-show” days during the 8 months of the project as there was always some element of the team on the job. The whole team was very pleasant to work with and tidied up each day before leaving. Ged took great pains to obtain the most cost-effective materials which we were grateful for. The quality of the work carried out was very good and just what we wanted. We are continuing to use G&G for further projects.
